Carlton Colville Ashburnham Way assault where man was punched in face prompts police appeal for member of public to come forward
A man was punched in the face and suffered a split lip, prompting police to appeal for a witness who intervened to come forward.
The alleged assault took place between 2.30pm and 3pm on Saturday February 25 in Ashburnham Way, Carlton Colville.
The victim – a man aged in his 30s – was punched in the face by another man which gave him a split lip.
On Tuesday 28 February, a 36-year-old man from the Lowestoft area was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm in connection with incident.
He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre (PIC) for questioning and was subsequently released on bail until Wednesday 12 April, pending further enquiries.
A member of public intervened in the assault and helped the victim, and officers are now looking to speak to them as they could assist with their enquiries.
