Lowestoft man Nathaniel Baldry who broke another man's jaw given 46-month sentence
A Lowestoft man who was convicted of a number of offences, including an assault where he broke another man's jaw, has been jailed for more than three years.
Nathaniel Baldry, 24 of St John's Road, was sentenced yesterday at Ipswich Crown Court after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm without intent, possessing criminal property and being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis).
This followed his arrest on November 18 after a warrant was executed at a property in St John's Road and items, including mobile phones and £30,000 cash hidden in rucksack in a wardrobe, were seized.
Baldry was also arrested in connection with an incident in Bristol on February 10, 2022. A man had been knocked to the ground following a fight which involved Baldry and a group of people, at which point Baldry kicked the fallen victim twice in the head.
Following the sentencing Detective Inspector Craig Brett said: "Baldry has been shown to be a violent individual who thinks nothing of seriously hurting another human being who is laid defenceless on the floor.
"While this offence did not occur in Suffolk, it is pleasing to know such a man has been given a custodial sentence.
"His criminal intentions can be seen from the results of the warrant executed at his property in Suffolk.
"Baldry was not able to prove that he had amassed such a large amount of cash by any legal means; it is clear as well as being a violent person he has been profiting from his criminal activity.
"I would like to thank all the officers involved in this investigation, in particular those from the East Sentinel team, their hard work has ensured a dangerous individual is now behind bars."
The investigation was led by the East Sentinel team. Suffolk’s three Operation Sentinel teams, set up in 2019, provide enhanced coverage of Suffolk’s road network. Based across the county, they work to disrupt serious and organised criminal activity.
