East Suffolk Council offers free festive parking in Beccles, Felixstowe, and Lowestoft

East Suffolk Council is offering free parking over the festive period in several major towns, including Beccles, Felixstowe and Lowestoft.

Christmas shoppers and visitors to festive events across the district can enjoy free parking in council-owned car parks on selected dates.

The chosen dates coincide with Christmas light switch-ons and festive events. The free parking will begin from 4pm on the following dates:

  • Beccles – Friday 26 November
  • Aldeburgh - Saturday 27 November
  • Felixstowe – Saturday 27 November
  • Halesworth - Saturday 27 November
  • Southwold - Saturday 27 November
  • Framlingham – Friday 3 December
  • Leiston – Saturday 4 December
  • Lowestoft – Saturday 4 December

Cllr Norman Brooks, cabinet member for Transport said: “We are pleased to be offering free parking at council-owned car parks during the festive period once again, as part of a special programme agreed with the respective town councils across East Suffolk.

"We hope this encourages even more people to visit towns across the district, to enjoy the Christmas events and support local businesses.”

Signs are in place on the tariff boards within each car park advising visitors of the free parking offer.
