Witness sought after Lowestoft High Street incident where woman attempted to snatch pushchair from mother

A woman who may have witnessed an incident involving a woman grabbing the handle of a pushchair in Lowestoft High Street is being sought by Suffolk Police.

Between 3pm and 3.20pm on Tuesday December 16 near St Margaret's Road, a woman pushing her child in a push chair was approached by another woman who grabbed hold of the handle of the buggy.

The victim pushed her away and quickly walked off before then phoning the police.

The suspect is believed to have been intoxicated. She is described as white, approximately 5ft 7in tall and was wearing a black puffer coat with a fur-lined hood, with the hood up.

Officers are keen to identify and speak to the woman pictured in the CCTV image they have today released. Police believe they may have witnessed the incident taking place.

They ask that if the woman can come forward they should contact Lowestoft police. They would also like to speak to any other witnesses or anyone driving in the area at the time who may have captured dashcam footage to contact East CID at Lowestoft Police Station, quoting reference: 37/71128/21.
