Police investigating new outbreak of vandalism at burial woodland park in Gunton, Lowestoft
Police are investigating a new outbreak of vandalism at a burial woodland park in Gunton, Lowestoft.
Officers have also stepped up patrols of the area around the burial ground after youths uprooted dozens of trees and damaged stakes.
The latest vandalism at the site happened overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
It follows overnight incidents on April 19 and 20 and another in the afternoon of April 15, when youths ran off after being confronted by staff.
Officers have urged visitors to be vigilant and report incidents of anti-social behaviour to officers.
A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: “These mindless actions show a complete lack of respect and are very upsetting.
“We are stepping up patrols and meanwhile ask members of the public to help us by reporting any anti-social behaviour as soon as they can so we can take effective action.”
