Police seek vehicle owner after cyclist falls and hits head in fail-to-stop collision in Lime Avenue, Lowestoft




A cyclist fell and hit her head after a vehicle clipped her bicycle in Lowestoft earlier this month.

Police are appealing for witnesses after they said a white vehicle failed to stop after the collision in Lime Avenue, directly outside the Persimmon Homes site office, at about 9.15pm on Friday, February 11.

Officers said the woman was travelling from the direction of Sands Lane, when the vehicle clipped the bike's rear wheel from behind and caused her to fall off and hit her head.

The cyclist went to hospital to be checked over the next day after feeling unwell, but did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police want to trace the vehicle involved, which failed to stop after the collision.

Any witnesses, or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has a dashcam, is asked to contact Lowestoft Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 179 of February 12.
