Great Yarmouth suspected drink driver Venura Kalubovilage charged after being arrested on provisional licence

A suspected drink-driver who was arrested while driving on a provisional licence over the weekend is set to appear in court.

Venura Kalubovilage, 45, of Havelock Road, Great Yarmouth, is charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis, alongside licence and insurance offences.

SuffolkNews reported this morning that a motorist was arrested in Kessingland on Sunday after officers noticed a vehicle being ‘driven erratically’ on the A12.

The arrest took place at about 5.30pm, a spokesman for Suffolk Police said.

The driver was breath tested, returning a reading of 89 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 80 micrograms.

It was then found that the motorist was driving unsupervised while on a provisional licence.

Kalubovilage has been bailed ahead of an appearance at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on May 28.
