Rod Ellingworth, Tour of Britain race director, said: “We are excited by the line-up of teams for this year’s Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain and the combination of squads that will be lining up on September 3.
“Many of the teams have enjoyed previous success with stage wins and overall victories in the race, while others making their debut will be keen to add their names to the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men roll of honour this year.
“We are sure that fans can look forward to six thrilling days of action, and we can’t wait to see all of the teams in action next month.”
After starting in Lowestoft, the course will head inland via Beccles and Bungay.
It will then head south through Halesworth, Framlingham, and Saxmundham, before racing along the Suffolk coast between Thorpeness and Aldeburgh.
The second half of the route takes in Snape, Wickham Market, Kesgrave, and Martlesham, before a finish on Sea Road in Felixstowe – familiar to riders from 12 months ago when Wout van Aert took a stage win in Suffolk.
Three intermediate sprints will feature at the final stage – each with time bonuses – at Beccles, Aldeburgh, and Grundisburgh that will help shape the outcome of who follows in the wheel tracks of Van Aert as champion.
The finale is expected to finish between 2.08pm and 2.53pm.
The race is celebrating its 20th anniversary of the modern edition this year and is free to watch on ITV4.
The tour begins in the Scottish Borders on Tuesday 3 September followed by stages in the Tees Valley, South Yorkshire, East Midlands and West Northamptonshire, before the final stage in Suffolk.
