Lowestoft teenager has screwdriver pressed against his neck in night time mugging




A mugger pressed a screwdriver against a teenager's neck and chest as he demanded the boy hand over his iPhone in a night time attack.

A 17-year-old boy was pushed over by the mugger in Lowestoft's Yarmouth Road last night at about 11.20pm.

The boy then had a screwdriver pressed against his chest and against his neck as the robber demanded the teenager's mountain bike, iPhone, AirPods earphones, and his bag.

Detectives are now questioning a 32-year-old man at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre after he was arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection to the incident.

Police officers have said he was not physically injured in the attack.

And today Suffolk Police are urging anyone with more information about the robbery to come forward.

"Enquiries are on-going into the incident and anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Lowestoft CID, quoting crime reference 37/30522/21," the spokesman said.

Officers have also said witnesses can contact charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
