Lowestoft men Rikki Wisby and Danny Cole jailed after horrific burglary




Two men have been jailed after a horrific burglary which left their victims shaken and upset.

Rikki Wisby, 36, of Commercial Road, Lowestoft, and Danny Cole, 35, of Northgate, Lowestoft, pleaded guilty to a number of offences, including burglary and assault, at Ipswich Crown Court last Friday.

The pair were sentenced for their involvement in an incident on July 3 last year.

Wisby and Cole entered a property in Lowestoft before assaulting two people, as well as damaging two mobile phones and a television.

Cole was jailed for three years and 10 months after pleading guilty to burglary with intent, assault causing actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

Wisby was sentenced to four years and six months in prison after pleading guilty to burglary with intent, criminal damage, intentional strangulation, assault causing actual bodily harm, and malicious communication.

Detective Sergeant Rob Brotherston said: “This was a horrific incident which left victims of the attack and vulnerable witnesses extremely shaken and upset.

“I am thankful to the officers who worked on this case, in particular Detective Constable McBrearty, who worked so hard to ensure those responsible were brought to justice.

“Crimes such as this leave lasting damage long after the physical injuries have healed and the damaged items have been replaced.

“I hope those responsible now have time to reflect on their actions and the pain they have caused.”
