18 fire crews called to large blaze in workshop at Mildenhall Stadium, in Hayland Drove, West Row
Eighteen fire crews have been called to a large blaze at a stadium workshop in a village.
The fire service and police were alerted to the incident at Mildenhall Stadium, in Hayland Drove, West Row, at around 5.30pm.
A police spokesperson said it was in a workshop at the stadium.
A spokesperson for the fire service said a turntable, nine pumps and a water carrier were in use by firefighters at the scene.
They added crews are making ‘good progress’ with stopping the fire from spreading.
The workshop is to the side of the stadium and has tractors, forklifts and propane cylinders in it.
A water carrier from RAF Mildenhall was also called to the scene.
As of 7.51pm, eight engines remained at the incident.
Residents in the area are asked to avoid the scene until further notice and to keep windows and doors shut.

Engines from Mildenhall, Newmarket, Brandon, Ixworth, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Soham, Ely, Hethersett and Cambridge were dispatched to the scene.
Police have also been alerted.
