The two facilities would be 178 sqm and 36 sqm respectively.

The new space would be built on an area of 30 parking spaces which are no longer used.

Around 100 members of staff serve out of the depot at present.

The Barton Mills branch of Five Guys is next to the facility.

A planning statement said the proposals would support the improvement of an established facility for ambulance maintenance within East Anglia.

It added that, as the development would enhance the efficiency of repairs at the site, there would be a lesser number of vehicles present at one time, reducing the need for parking space.
