SuffolkNews Podcast: Police arrest dangerous and drink driver after he crashes into parked car in Mildenhall following police chase

On today’s podcast, a motorist has been arrested for dangerous and drug driving after failing to stop for police in a Suffolk town.

Police tried to stop a van in Mildenhall because of how it was being driven, and the driver allegedly failed to stop before crashing into a parked car and running away.

Officers surrounded the area to locate the man who was found at his home.

Also, reports of smouldering in a roof in Suffolk that was up in flames yesterday have led fire crews to return.

Two fire crews are at a house in Hasketon, near Woodbridge, where crews were called to a blaze at around 1am yesterday.

Surrounding roads were closed during the night, as dozens of firefighters used pumping equipment and entered the building with breathing equipment. The operation was scaled back at about 4am.

And finally, the Suffolk Kite Flyers Club is moving to Stonham Barns Park from June 1, after leaving their base at Rougham Airfield.

The 30-strong group specialises in a variety of activities, from power kiting to blow karting.

Earlier this year, club members learned they would not be able to continue meeting at Rougham Airfield.

The club, along with Skyward Flight Training and Bury Model Aircraft Club, were told by the Rougham Estate in February that their lease would not be renewed after May.
