Fire crews battle large blaze in Mildenhall Woods off Brandon Road




Several fire crews have battled a large blaze in a Suffolk town’s forest this morning.

Appliances were called at 7.51am today to about six hectares of Mildenhall Woods, off Brandon Road, which was well alight.

A spokesperson for Mildenhall Fire Station said the fire was under control and crews were damping down the area.

One engine from Mildenhall and two engines from Newmarket attended the incident.

Firefighters stood down at 10.44am.
