Pothole-riddled road Trinity Avenue, in Mildenhall, has ‘finally’ been resurfaced
A road in a Suffolk town that was riddled with potholes has ‘finally’ been resurfaced.
Part of Trinity Avenue, in Mildenhall, was resurfaced a few years ago up to the Breckland Way junction, including outside of St Mary’s Church of England Academy.
However, despite a previous patch-up the road was branded ‘Pothole Avenue’ and the ‘worst road in West Suffolk’ by residents, with more than 50 potholes ranging up to half a metre in size.
West Suffolk councillor Richard Alecock, who represents the Great Heath ward in Mildenhall, said in March that Trinity Avenue was in desperate need of complete resurfacing and that it had remained a significant inconvenience to residents.
Cllr Andy Neal, who represents Mildenhall Queensway, is satisfied now the work has been completed by Suffolk Highways.
He said: It’s great to see Trinity Avenue has at last finally been resurfaced.
“It should never have taken so long or residents should not been given so many false promises
“Now it has been resurfaced we find ourselves looking at roads equally as bad that need work being scheduled.”
