Four people taken to hospital following crash on A11 at Fiveways Roundabout in Barton Mills, near Mildenhall
Four people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash which closed the A11 for more than two hours.
Emergency services, including police, fire crews and the ambulance service were called to the collision at the Fiveways Roundabout in Barton Mills, near Mildenhall, at 6.12pm yesterday.
The northbound carriageway between the A1065 and A1101 at Fiveways Roundabout and the B1106 at Elveden was closed until about 8pm.
The incident involved two cars – one towing a trailer – which veered off the road and went into a field.
Firefighters were called to reports of smoke.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed today that four land ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, a Suffolk Accident and Rescue Service (SARS) vehicle and an air ambulance were sent to the scene.
Four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
