Mildenhall-based companies English Architectural Glazing Limited and Multi Fab Limited cease trading with immediate effect after falling into administration
A glazing and a fabrication company both based in the same town have ceased trading with immediate effect after falling into administration.
A total of 90 people have been made redundant from Mildenhall-based businesses English Architectural Glazing Limited (EAG) and its sister company Multi Fab Limited (MFL).
Partners from Begbies Traynor were appointed as administrators on Friday after an application was submitted to court by the director of EAG and MFL.
Robert Ferne and Jeremy Karr were assigned as joint administrators to ‘effect an orderly wind-down of the companies’.
A Begbies Traynor spokesperson said: “EAG and MFL were founded in 1985 and 2002 respectively. They were contracted to design and produce envelope and facade packages.
“They had an established base of long-standing clients and a history of working on several high-profile contracts.
"Unfortunately, due to recent financial under-performance they have experienced significant working capital challenges.
“Despite exploring a sales process and seeking additional investment, given the deteriorating liquidity position, it was necessary for the companies to be placed into administration.”
The spokesperson added: “As a result, all employees at EAG (54) and MFL (36) have been made redundant and are being supported by the administrators to submit their redundancy claims."
