His death has shocked and saddened the racing community.

Kelly Jeeves, who has started the fundraising page in his memory, said: “We are setting up this GoFundMe page to honour George, who tragically lost his life at Mildenhall Track while doing what he loved.

“At just 17 years old, George had his whole life ahead of him.

“His passion and enthusiasm for racing were evident to everyone who knew him, and his loss is deeply felt by all.”

The fund-raiser aims to celebrate his memory.

Contributions will go towards charities chosen by the family as well as a memorial bench for George.

Kelly added: “We appreciate your support and generosity as we come together to remember and honour George's life and legacy.”

So far £1,640 has been raised of the £5,000 target.

At the time of his death, dad Russell, said on social media: “No words can explain what I’m going through at the moment.

“I’m absolutely broken.

“George was doing what he loved best, motocross riding, but sadly today that took his life.”

“I have had messages from track owners all around the country and fellow riders.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said an air ambulance, two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle had attended last Sunday.

He added: "Sadly, despite our best efforts, a man died at the scene."
