Top G Wings in Mildenhall paid visit by popular social media critic Food Review Club

A chicken wing restaurant in a town centre has been paid a visit by a popular social media food critic with more than 900,000 Facebook followers.

Top G Wings in Mildenhall played host to the Food Review Club yesterday after reviewer, Matthew Binge, said he had heard ‘crazy stuff’ about the American-style restaurant.

Mildenhall men Shaz Begg and Paul Stannard opened Top G Wings in St Andrew’s Street in November 2023 and Mr Begg is delighted to see how far it has come in such a short space of time.

Mr Begg said: “The Food Review Club is one of the biggest food reviewers in the UK so to have him come visit, just confirms that all the hard work and passion that the team are putting in is paying off.

“It was honestly amazing and such a privilege to host him and without the support of the local community and surrounding areas this wouldn’t be possible.

“I’m super proud of how everything is going and within the first year of us opening and to be able to open a second branch in Norwich pays tribute to that.”

Mr Begg confirmed in August that a second branch would be opening in Norwich with an opening date not revealed yet but it is expected to welcome customers soon.

The Mildenhall branch has now become part of the friends of the Food Review Club programme and it has been approved with a pink sticker on the front of its shop window.

The Food Review Club has amassed more than 900,000 followers on Facebook and 800,000 followers on TikTok, after fast-food lover Matthew started reviewing take-out restaurants in and around the Cambridgeshire area in 2018.

The critic did film a video reviewing the food at Top G Wings but has not released it yet on social media.
