Fire crews from Mildenhall, Newmarket, Thetford, Ely and Cambridge called to blaze at hair salon in West Row
A large number of fire crews have been called to battle a blaze at a hair salon in a Suffolk village.
Crews were called at 3.23pm today to a fire, measuring 15 metres by 10 metres, in the first floor and roof of a hair salon in Beeches Road, West Row, near Mildenhall.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said three hose-reel jets and a larger covering jet are being used to extinguish the fire.
One engine from Mildenhall, two from Newmarket, two from Thetford, one from Cambridge, one from Ely plus a turntable ladder from Bury St Edmunds have been deployed.
An operational support unit from Haverhill and command support vehicle from Ixworth are also at the scene.
There are no casualties and the incident is ongoing.
Suffolk Police were called to the scene at 3.50pm and assisted with traffic control.
UK Power Networks has been informed.
