Mildenhall man, 22, arrested after armed robbery at McColl's store in St John's Close
Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a robbery at a shop in Mildenhall at the weekend, where a taser was pointed at a member of staff.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at the McColl's store in St John's Close at about 7.35pm on Saturday.
Suffolk Police said a man entered the store and approached the counter to pay for an item. When the till was opened to take the payment, he leaned across the counter and stole money from the drawer while pointing a taser at a member of staff.
He then walked out of the store with the cash.
A second man had exited the shop after buying some cigarettes prior to this incident and detectives are investigating whether this is linked to the robbery.
Suffolk Police have confirmed that they arrested a 22-year-old man from Mildenhall yesterday morning in connection with the incident.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, before being released on bail until Monday, February 7, pending further enquiries.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anyone entering or leaving the shop, or who was acting suspiciously.
Any motorists with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, who were driving in the vicinity of the incident between 7.30pm and 7.40pm, are asked to review the footage for anything that may be of assistance.
