Masked trio armed with sledgehammers and crowbars steal tills and items from Tesco Express in Red Lodge, near Mildenhall

Masked robbers armed with sledgehammers and crowbars threatened shop staff before stealing the tills and multiple items.

The trio pushed past staff at about 10.50pm yesterday at Tesco Express, in Turnpike Road, Red Lodge.

They stole various items including the tills, meat, tobacco and alcohol.

The robbers fled the shop and made off in a white Ford Transit van.

The staff were left shaken but were not injured during the incident.

The trio were described as white — two of slim build and one of large build -- who were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and balaclavas.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and are asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
