McDonald’s restaurant next to Fiveways Roundabout in Barton Mills, near Mildenhall, reopens after three-month refurbishment

A McDonald’s restaurant next to a busy roundabout in Suffolk has reopened today following a three-month refurbishment.

The fast-food giant shut the branch on the Fiveways roundabout in Barton Mills, near Mildenhall, on January 5, as part of its ‘convenience to the future programme’.

As part of the programme, some of the changes include a front counter redesign and a new kitchen design which features a bigger order assembly area.

Improvements have also been made for restaurant staff with a redesign of the crew room.

Carol Rogerson, who owns and operates 21 McDonald’s restaurants in Norfolk and Suffolk, said: “I’m proud to reinvest in our Barton Mills restaurant.

“As part of the refurbishment, the dining area has been made more contemporary and we now have separate facilities for our dine-in customers and an upgraded crew break room leading to a better experience for everyone.

“It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Barton Mills restaurant and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our staff as they will help make their jobs a little easier.”

A McDonald’s spokesperson added the revamp will make it more efficient to order and give customers more space, with dedicated areas for the different ways to order, along with the removal of the front counter.
