“I was expecting maybe one really good result so I’m quite amazed to be honest.
“I want to thank my teachers and my mum and dad who helped me revise more. I’ve worked hard and I’m now thinking of maybe becoming an interior designer when I’m older.”
Lucy Pinnell lives in Brandon and is going to MCA6 before she hopes to potentially begin a career in accountancy.
“I’m pretty happy and satisfied and on the whole the exams went really well for me,” Lucy said.
“My English results were a little lower than I expected but I’m very pleased with my maths.
“I want to say thank you to my parents and then especially Ms Mantle and Mr Ridley-Hughes who were a big help to me.”

“Ms Muttock has been a huge help and really supportive to me and all the teachers have just been really good so thank you to them as well.”
Nicola Hood, principal at Mildenhall College Academy, said that students’ hard work and dedication was to be commended and it has now been reflected in their achievements.
“Students at MCA have matched the excellent achievement of their peers last year with some impressive results,” she said.
“Students of all abilities have worked hard to ensure they can progress on to the next steps of their education, many choosing to continue their studies at Mildenhall in our bespoke sixth form, MCA6.
“I would like to thank the staff who worked tirelessly to support our students from Year 7 along with the families of our students and our wider community.
“Our celebrations today are for our students but all successes have been built through our strong team ethic. I am incredibly proud of the MCA community.”
James Oxley, head of academy, added: “We once again have pleasing results which are a testament to the hard work from our students, families and colleagues at MCA.
“We have seen a greater number of students achieving both a grade 4 in English and in maths since last year.
“I am proud of every student who has tried their best throughout their time at MCA. We will be delighted to continue working with a significant number of students who choose to further their studies at MCA6 and we wish every student the very best in their future endeavours.”
Garry Trott, director of secondary education, said: “Well done to all at Mildenhall College Academy for these pleasing set of results, which reflect the hard work and dedication of students, families and academy staff.
“We are delighted that students now have a strong foundation as they enter the world of further education, employment and training.
“After the rating of good in the recent Ofsted in May, the academy community has had a successful year.”
Ms Hood, who is now leaving Mildenhall College Academy, said: “I’m as proud today as I was 20 years ago with my first set of results.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of a journey for so many families which culminates in results day.
“While I take away the success of our students, what will stay with me forever, is the sense of family and community and the support and love that everyone has shown me.”
Any students still interested in enrolling into MCA6, should arrive at the site on Wednesday, September 4, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
