Eight new affordable homes to be built in Emmanuel Close in Mildenhall after West Suffolk Council grants permission

A total of eight new affordable homes and 64 parking spaces are set to be built in Mildenhall following the demolition of 70 garages.

The application to build on the site of garages in Emmanuel Close was made by Flagship Housing Group Ltd, which already owns and manages a number of similar sites in Mildenhall.

Permission to build seven, two-bedroom houses and a single, three-bedroom house was granted by West Suffolk Council earlier this month.

In June 2023, the application was amended, reducing the number of proposed new homes in Emmanuel Close from 12 to eight.

The new homes are part of a wider Flaghship Housing scheme to add to the number of affordable homes in Mildenhall, including in Peterhouse Close, Pembroke Close, Newnham Close and Downing Close.

West Suffolk Council stated that the development shall not begin any later than three years from the date it gave permission.
