Pictures show Donald Trump’s presidential plane landing at RAF Mildenhall to refuel en route to Middle East
Pictures show Donald Trump’s presidential plane touching down at a Suffolk airbase to refuel while en route visiting the Middle East.
The US president arrived at RAF Mildenhall at 11.45pm yesterday in the Air Force One jet before departing an hour later.
Flying was restricted in the area of the airbase for reasons of public safety and security, with restrictions in place from 10pm to 3am.
The US President visits Saudi Arabia today, followed by trips to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates until Friday.
Further restrictions are in place at RAF Mildenhall from 4pm to 9pm on Friday, suggesting Air Force One will stop to refuel during Mr Trump’s return flight to the US.
Mr Trump last visited RAF Mildenhall on February 26, 2019, when Air Force One arrived at the base for refueling and logistical support.
It landed en route to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, for the president’s second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
It took under 26 minutes to refuel the plane.
There are reports Mr Trump intends to accept a Boeing 747 plane as a gift from the Qatari royal family during his visit to the Middle East.
Mr Trump suggested last month that a date for September is being set for him to meet the King in Britain.
