Barton Mills A11 Fiveways roundabout car blaze, near Mildehall, prompts emergency services response

Emergency services were called to a car fire at a busy roundabout.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue service, along with police, were called to the scene at Fiveways roundabout on the A11 at Barton Mills, near Mildenhall, at 12.38pm.

A Land Rover Discovery had caught fire and the road was closed.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a number of calls regarding a car fire at Fiveways roundabout.

“We sent one engine and two fighter fighters were able to extinguish the blaze using hose reels.

“The police assisted with a road closure and traffic management.”

The fire was extinguished by 1.09pm.

Delays of up to 20 minutes were reported.
