Social media sewing queen, Lizzy Curtis from Red Lodge near Mildenhall, calls for quilt making fund-raiser help

A Suffolk social media demonstrator and influencer is calling on people to join a mammoth patchwork quilt sewing session in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Lizzy Curtis, from Red Lodge near Mildenhall, asked her online community to send in patchwork blocks and was given around 300 from the likes of America, Canada and Spain.

This should make around 10 to 12 quilts, so now the former Create and Craft TV presenter has set up the session at the Millennium Centre, in Red Lodge, on March 15.

Lizzy said: “Volunteers are joining us from across the UK, including Cornwall, Edinburgh and Somerset.

“I felt genuinely touched and the whole thing has been completely overwhelming, in the best possible way.”

Also, anyone donating £5 to Lizzy Curtis’s JustGiving page will receive a virtual ticket and be in with a chance of winning one of the quilts.
