Stretch of A11 around Mildenhall set for four months of overnight closures

A stretch of the A11 is set for around four months of overnight closures later this year.

National Highways will alternately close the northbound and southbound carriageways on the road in the Mildenhall area, between the B1085 Red Lodge Interchange to the Five Ways roundabout at Barton Mills.

An exact date for the start of the works is not yet confirmed.

A spokesperson for National Highways said the closures would facilitate repairs and maintenance to the existing road surface.

A public notice from the agency said the road would be resurfaced, road markings and studs renewed, drainage works and repairs to the safety barriers.

The closures would be between 8pm and 6am, according to the notice.

Southbound traffic would be diverted to exit the A11 at Five Ways and then via the A1101 and B1106 to join the A14 westbound at junction 42 and continue on.

This would be reversed for the northbound carriageway.
