Work under way at McColl’s shop in Market Place, Mildenhall, to transform it into Morrisons Daily

Renovations at a town shop to transform it into a Morrisons Daily are under way.

The first steps to convert the McColl’s store at 1-2 Market Place in Mildenhall have been taken with Morrisons Daily signage now displayed on the building which is being refurbished.

WM Morrison Supermarkets Ltd gained advertisement and listed building consent in August.

They included a replacement sign at the front, a hanging sign, hung poster frames and various signage inside.

Listed building consent was also sought for various works including repainting and repairs to the windows and doors.

Morrisons bought the McColls business in 2022 and stores have been converted to the Morrisons Daily brand.

A previous version of this story said the Morrisons Daily would include a Post Office. Morrisons has confirmed it does not currently have plans for a Post Office at the store.
