Sainsbury’s in Mildenhall submits plans for Timpson pod
A supermarket chain has submitted plans for a retail pod at one of its Suffolk stores.
Sainsbury’s in Recreation Way, Mildenhall, could see a Timpson pod installed in the car park offering dry cleaning, key cutting, watch repair, engraving and shoe repair services.
The plans were submitted to West Suffolk Council and, if approved, would reduce the amount of car parking spaces from 168 to 165.
The Timpson pod is 15sqm by 17sqm and includes a customer service counter, waiting area and staff working areas.
An application for signage has also been submitted.
Sainsbury’s has introduced the pods at many of its locations across the UK – including in Bury St Edmunds.
The Bury car park recently revealed six charging bays for electric vehicles last week, which is the supermarket’s first charging hub in the county.
The plans for the Mildenhall retail pod are awaiting a decision.
