Worlington Hall, near Mildenhall, to feature on Channel 4 TV show Four in a Bed
A 16th century hotel in a Suffolk village is set to feature on a hit Channel 4 TV show.
Worlington Hall, in The Street, Worlington, near Mildenhall, will appear on Four in a Bed next week.
Narrated by Duncan Wisbey, the reality show follows a group of bed and breakfast owners who take turns staying in each other's establishments and compete to be crowned the best hosts.
The competition airs across one week with a different hotel featuring each evening until the winner is revealed in the fifth episode on Friday evening.
The owners of Worlington Hall, Louis Waters, 30, and Michael Platten, 33, will feature in the show which begins on Monday, with the group visiting their premises to be aired on Thursday.
The episodes were filmed in March 2024.
Mr Waters, who used to live in West Row, said: “We both really enjoyed it and it was good fun to be honest.
“It was nice meeting other people and doing tasks was fun. It was interesting to see how other hotels were and watching some moments unfold when people got a little bit fired up.
“It was a bit bizarre waking up with cameras and microphones but I actually didn’t mind it too much and we got on well with everybody and have made friends off it who we keep in contact with.
“Hopefully more people want to come and have a look at our hotel as the show is aired all over the UK, so it’ll be nice to get some traction and get some people through the door.”
Mr Waters and Mr Platten, who took over Worlington Hall in 2021, were approached by the show a couple of years ago but the pair were doing a full refurbishment of the hotel so postponed their appearance on it.
Participants in the show give a rating and feedback on cleanliness, facilities, hosting, sleep quality and breakfast.
Four in a Bed was first aired in 2010 and 18 seasons have been released so far.
