Needham Market sign ex-Cambridge United, AFC Sudbury and Lowestoft Town midfielder Dylan Williams from league rivals St Ives Town

Needham Market have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Dylan Williams from St Ives Town.

The 25-year-old, who progressed through the academy at Cambridge United, brings a wealth of experience playing at Steps 3 and 4, turning out for the likes of AFC Sudbury, Lowestoft Town and Soham Town Rangers.

Williams made his professional debut for Cambridge as a substitute against Morecambe in the final weeks of the 2015/16 season, before going out on loan in the Vanarama National League South with Wealdstone.

After being released by the U's in 2017, he has continued his playing career in non-league and has spent the last two-and-a-half years at Needham's league rivals St Ives.

Williams has racked up more than 70 appearances and scored 12 times during his spell at the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road, and has now agreed terms to join the Marketmen, who also play in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central.

Kevin Horlock's Needham currently sit in 15th place, one spot below St Ives in 14th, and could hand a debut to their new signing when they host Redditch United tomorrow (3pm).
