Bags of treats for NHS staff thanks to Red Lodge teen
Bags containing luxury treats have been delivered to hospital and surgery staff thanks to the efforts of a Red Lodge teenager.
Newmarket Academy student Alicia Moody, 13, put together 140 bags of goodies of which 110 were handed over to nurses at West Suffolk Hospital and 30 to the staff at Red Lodge’s Reynard Surgery as a special thank you for their work during the coronavirus crisis.
“We let people know what Alicia was doing through facebook, Instagram and email and set up a little stall in the garden where they could leave items,” said her mum Lucy. As a result nearly a thousand items were donated.
Alicia is now involved in another effort to raise money for NHS charities running of 50 miles in 30 days.
And, with Lucy accompanying her on a bike or her father Gavin running with her on her daily lap around Red Lodge, she is already nearly halfway to her target with £335 donated or pledged.
