Girl band visit is inspirational for pupils at a primary school near Newmarket

All-girl band Calyco paid a visit to Burrough Green Primary School near Newmarket where they treated youngsters to a special four-song set.

The five-member group, made up of ‎members Angel, Chloe, Izzy, Julie, and Tyger, held a question and answer session with the whole school before Year 6 children took part in a podcast with the band.

“The children were interested in what it takes to become a pop star, their choreography and their lives in general,” said headteacher David Sandford. “The band members were kind and accommodating and the children’s faces as they performed were an absolute picture”

“Our music lead, Fiona Moxom, worked incredibly hard to set everything up so the children got the best possible experience. It is so important that the curriculum we deliver the children has ‘awe and wonder’ running through every subject.”
