Hunt cheque boost for charities

More than £2,500 was raised for good causes by members and followers of the Thurlow hounds following a charity meet in Newmarket last month.

Just over 100 mounted followers were at the meet hosted by bloodstock auctioneers Tattersalls at its Park Paddocks complex in The Avenue along with hundreds of supporters on foot.

A total of £2,660 was raised from the bucket collection and a bottle draw, which was shared between the Injured Jockeys’ Fund and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Hunt secretary Sam Sheppard presented the cheques to Jack Clarkson from the East Anglian Air Ambulance,and Lisa Hancock, representing the Injured Jockeys’ Fund.
