Lakenheath man found with indecent images of children handed suspended sentence
A 58-year-old man who was caught with illegal child pornography has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
James Matthews, of Wings Road, Lakenheath, appeared today at Ipswich Crown Court.
Matthews was arrested and charged after police officers who were executing a search warrant at his home in January seized a laptop computer, mobile phone and USB storage stick.
The court heard that when the devices were examined, police found more than 150 indecent images and movies of children.
Matthews pleaded guilty to three offences of making an indecent image of a child, one offence of possessing an extreme pornographic image and one offence of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
Judge Martyn Levett sentenced Matthews to eight months imprisonment suspended for two years.
In addition, Judge Levett told Matthews that he would be required to complete 100 hours of unpaid community work and have to sign the sexual offences register for ten years.
