Kirtling Mum treats NHS staff to hampers packed with gratitude

A Kirtling mum has put together 22 hampers packed with goodies for the staff at West Suffolk Hospital thanks to support from the 1,500 followers of her Facebook blog.

Lauren Godfrey, who owns The Horses Mouth NKT – Parenting in Newmarket, used her Facebook page to appeal for contributions in support of the staff at the Bury St Edmunds hospital.

Her followers left donations on their doorsteps which were collected by staff from local building firm Godfrey and Hicks, of which Lauren’s husband Gareth is a director.

There was also a wish list on Amazon so supporters could order items which would then be sent directly to Lauren for the hampers which are packed with treats.

“We have been blown away by the response,” said Lauren. “I have been sharing activities and live videos for children in the Facebook blog and we also ran a family friendly quiz that 100 local families tuned into, but I was keen to spread my efforts and help the nurses and staff at West Suffolk Hospital too.

"These hampers are just a very small way for us to try and thank them for their huge sacrifice.”
