Suffolk News Podcast: Man dies in crash on A14 near Newmarket

In today's podcast, we have the news of a man who has died following a crash involving two motorhomes yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the A14 near Newmarket at around 2.36pm on Sunday afternoon after reports of a collision.

A 79-year-old man, who was driving a white Peugeot caravan, died at the scene.

The occupants in the other caravan both received serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, Suffolk has been hit with scorching temperatures today.

Highs of 37.2 degrees were recorded in Santon Downham, near Brandon, at 3pm.

The record temperatures has seen a number of schools forced into closing or making alternative arrangements for their pupils.

A Suffolk snorkeller made a shocking discovery while in the depths of waterway last week.

Nicola Crockford, of Tuddenham, found a human skull while out snorkelling in Lode Dike at Boughton Fen, Norfolk, on Monday July 11.

Shaken by the discovery, the skull is now in the hands of the experts.
