In today's podcast, we have the news that an investigation is underway after a customer was injured when he fell into a temporary pool set up outside a Newmarket pub.

A spokesman for West Suffolk Council has confirmed the incident happened at The Shoes pub, in Moulton Road, on July 8 and that its environmental health officers are looking into it.

Ken Clutterbuck, who runs the Punch Taverns pub, said he has taken the paddling pool down.

Next, thefts from village churches in Suffolk, including two near Haverhill, have prompted a rural officer to issue advice and ask residents to be more vigilant.

Silverware, including two drinking chalices, a sacrament box and a silver box was stolen from a safe in St Margaret’s Church in Cowlinge between June 12 and July 10.

Lead was taken from the roof of the Church of Saint Peter in Little Thurlow on May 27.

Sergeant Brian Calver, from Suffolk Police’s rural crime and wildlife team, said measures such as a roof alarm system or anti-vandal paint on drain pipes could be used to catch perpetrators.

Also, ahead of the Commonwealth Games tomorrow we have rounded up seven athletes from Suffolk who will be competing in Birmingham.

On the list is Hannah Martin from Ipswich who, alongside her hockey team mates, will be aiming for gold this summer.

The 27-year-old nearly missed out on competing at last year's Olympic Games after suffering a broken leg.

But she fought back in just four months and earned a bronze medal at the Games in Tokyo.

And finally, Mark Murphy and Lesley Dolphin have been reflecting on their combined 60 years on the county’s airwaves.

It wasn’t plain sailing for the pair when they first started working together at BBC Radio Suffolk, as there was many an argument.

But professional rivalry turned to romance and 20 years ago they got married in Las Vegas after he proposed on the flight to America.

It’s now all change for the couple, as Lesley retires tomorrow and Mark has recently moved from his current-affairs breakfast slot to weekends.
