Strong Soham Mums launch charity calendar
Strong Soham Mums, a group of women who have all endured the tragedy of the death of a child, have launched the calendar they posed for to raise money for causes close to their hearts.
It was unveiled at the Red Lion, in Soham, on Friday by the mums who feature on it, including Alison Fitt, whose 15-year-old son, Charlie died of a rare immune condition, Nicola Wells, whose daughter Holly was murdered in 2002, and Claire Danks, whose 22-year-old daughter Lauren was killed by a drink driver. The calendar will raise money for Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Road Victims’ Trust.
When the Journal first reported on the charity calendar, Alison said she found the group a great source of strength.
"I know the others have all been there and so it's easier to be with them because everyone knows what we have been through - losing a child gives you a different perspective on life," she said.
It is now on sale at shops in Soham and will also be available by mail order at their website, strongsohammums.co.uk.
