Newmarket joins in celebration of Suffolk Day by offering free tours of the National Stud
Newmarket will be joining the celebration of Suffolk Day tomorrow as the county gears up for the ‘Big Weekender’ that will celebrate everything Suffolk has to offer.
Discover Newmarket is taking part by offering free tours of The National Stud tomorrow while there is a buy one get one free offer on all day admission tickets to Palace House.
The festivities continue into the weekend with Newmarket Racecourses offering £10 grandstand and paddock tickets and £15 premier enclosure tickets for the Summer Saturday race meeting on June 22.
And doing their best to help tidy the town will be litter picking group Rubbish Friends who will be meeting tomorrow in Tesco's car park at 9.30am before tackling the litter in the hedges which border the A142 Fordham Road and Hatchfield Farm.
Visitors to the 500-acre National Stud will be able to see the resident stallions and to meet the mares and foals in the paddocks. Visitors on the tours are now also able to meet retired legends Lord Windermere, the 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, and Jack The Giant who racked up an impressive tally of victories under trainer Nicky Henderson.
