Mildenhall thieves Andre McCall and Jason Parkinson jailed after admitting burglaries
Two men have been jailed after they admitted burgling three homes in Mildenhall.
Andre McCall and Jason Parkinson pleaded guilty when they appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.
The court heard the offences took place in the space of three hours early on Sunday, September 23.
The first burglary took place at around 4am in Melbourne Drive, when the pair got in through aninsecure garage door but were disturbed by the occupants, before making off with a garden Strimmer.
The other two incidents were both in Miles Hawk Way, one at 4.30am, when a wallet was stolen, and the other at 7am during which the two men were disturbedin the garage andran off with some power tools.
Thehouseowner gave chase and caught up with one of the suspectsmanaging to retrieve some of the stolen goods.
Twenty-one-year-old Parkinson, of Bunbury Avenue, Mildenhall, and McCall, 42 of Campbell Close, Mildenhall, were arrestedand charged with the three burglaries.
The court heard thatbetween his arrest and his sentencing, Parkinson was interviewed by officers from Suffolk Police’s Operation Converter team and, as a result, admittedthree further burglary offences, two thefts from vehicles and the theft of a pedal cycle. The thefts all took place between August and Septemberlast year.
Parkinson had been due at Ipswich Crown Courtin December for sentencing but failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He handed himself into police the next day. He was jailed for two yearsand McCallfor 45 months.
