Asensi announces Mildenhall exit
Joe Asensi has confirmed his departure from Mildenhall Town with immediate effect.
The versatile left-footer joined the Recreation Way side in the summer of 2015 and went on to become a key member of manager Dean Greygoose's plans.
He made 50 appearances during his first campaign as Mildenhall won the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup for the first time in their history, and then followed that up by featuring on 43 occasions in the double-winning season of 2016/17.
Injuries limited his availability in the club's maiden campaign at Step 4 last term, though there was still some high points, including scoring both goals in Mildenhall's derby victory over Soham Town Rangers.
Asensi has turned out for the club a further five times during the ongoing season, but has now decided the time is right to move on.
He wrote on the club's Facebook page: "I have decided to leave the club. The decision was not easy as this club is like no other, but it is what's best.
"I have shared unbelievable memories with some amazing people (fans, players & coaches) over the past few years, that I will never forget. So thank you all for those!"
Prior to joining Mildenhall, Asensi has spells with Soham Town Rangers and Histon.
