Soham Town Rangers bring Sam Mulready and Ben Seymour-Shove back to the club

Soham Town Rangers have received a timely boost with the re-signing of two players.

Popular striker Sam Mulready is back at the club for a third spell, having most recently departed in the summer for Isthmian League North Division side Dereham Town.

However, the forward found starting opportunities hard to come by at Aldiss Park and has subsequently had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Dereham manager Adam Gusterson told the club's website: "We have agreed to the mutual termination of Sam Mulready's contract and he has rejoined Soham Town Rangers. Sam is a fantastic lad and has a record at this level which speaks for itself.

"Unfortunately, a disruptive pre-season for him personally and the form of both Shaun Bammant and Toby Hilliard have made it difficult for him to nail down a starting berth so far this season.

"We have also established a system, which maybe doesn’t suit his game quite so well at the moment and again this has meant getting Sam starts has proved difficult.

"To Sam’s credit he just wants to play football, start games and score goals and he sees a move back to Soham as a better fit for this to happen, which we have to respect.

"Sam’s attitude has been exemplary, not once has he been a negativity energy around the group despite not playing and he is a top lad who I wish nothing but the best for in the future."

Also heading back to Julius Martin Lane on dual registration terms from St Ives Town is Ben Seymour-Shove.

The attack-minded midfielder, who was once on the books of Peterborough United, had a couple of stints at Soham back in 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Both players started for the Greens at Corby Town last night but were unable to prevent a 1-0 defeat.

It is a result that leaves Robbie Mason's side bottom of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division with one point from their opening five outings.

They will look to pick up their first three points of the campaign with back-to-back home games against Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday (3pm) and then Daventry Town on Tuesday (7.45pm).
