Joe Carden, Alfie Connor and Jon Kaye all re-sign for Soham Town Rangers for first season after Northern Premier League transfer

There has been further good news for followers of Soham Town Rangers with three more players putting pen to paper to commit to Robbie Mason's squad for their debut campaign in the Northern Premier League.

Six members of last season's squad were yesterday revealed as staying alongside a new signing in left-back Warren McSkelly from Huntingdon Town.

And they will be joined by Joe Carden, Alfie Connor and Jon Kaye, with all three re-signing following last night's 4-1 opening pre-season friendly victory away at newly-promoted Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Lakenheath.

Talented winger Carden had rejoined the Greens last summer followed an injury plagued spell with Bury Town, while midfielders Connor and Kaye have also returned to the club since 2019/20.

It means player-manager Mason and player-assistant Erkan Okay have managed to soften the blow of losing striker Sam Mulready and goalkeeper Josh Pope, following their lateral transfer to the Northern Premier League in the FA's non-league restructure.

Declan Rogers, Kaye, Caemron Watson and a trialist accounted for Soham's goals at Lakenheath last night.

The Greens are due to continue their build-up to the new season when they host a Peterborough United XI at Julis Martin Lane on Tuesday (7.30pm) before travelling to Mildenhall Town on Friday (7.45pm).
