Eddie Guest is hopeful that this weekend’s night of white collar action will prove to be his gym’s best yet.

Twelve bouts are set to take place at the recently-opened Ark venue on Newmarket’s High Street, one of which will see a new champion crowned.

Guest, whose Eddie’s Gym is based in Fordham, said: “This is being held at a revamped venue with a much better layout, so I am really looking forward to it.

“The way it is set up, the atmosphere is going to be even better than normal. Newmarket crowds really get behind the fighters, so it should be great.

“My lads have been sparring at other gyms for a little while and they are coming out on top.

“All of our shows have been great but this one is really exciting because there are some top fighters on the bill.

“They are tough lads who are determined to put on a good show.”

Eddie’s Gym’s Dan Holland is set to be involved in one of the night’s biggest fights as his clash with Norwich’s Eddie Dickinson will see the winner walk away with the 80kg East Anglian title.

“Dan is in good shape and he has been working very hard,” added Guest.

“He always trains hard for his fights and leaves everything out in the ring. He has helped me out a lot in the gym recently and really deserves this shot at a title. If he boxes how we know he can, he is in with a great chance.”

Elsewhere on the card Adam Lee and Dutch Holland will be having their first competitive bouts against each other, while Dameon Starmer will be looking to bounce back from his defeat last time out.

The other home fighters set to don their boxing gloves are: Jack Trow, Jack Gilligan, Chris Hewitt, Jamie Corner, Nathan Howie, Andrew Shipp, Callum Bush and Finley Jenkins.

Tickets, which cost £25, can be purchased by visiting Eddie’s Gym’s Facebook page. The doors at The Ark will be open at 6pm with the fighting due to start an hour later.
