Former Ipswich Town academy player Jack Willbye joins Soham Town Rangers

After stints playing in America and Gibraltar, full-back Jack Willbye has returned to the United Kingdom to join Soham Town Rangers.

The former Ipswich Town academy player, who had a loan spell with fellow BetVictor Isthmian League North Division side Bury Town in 2014, has impressed Soham boss Robbie Mason during recent training sessions.

"Cameron Watson (Soham defender) knows Jack and said he was looking for a club back in England," said Mason.

"We have been waiting for the international clearance and now it has come through it is great to have him involved.

"He has done very well in training and looks to be a good technical player. You can see he has had a good schooling at Ipswich and with the scholarship in America."

Willbye could make his Soham debut during Saturday's home encounter against bottom-of-the-table Romford – follow @liamapicella on Twitter for updates (KO 3pm).
