King's Lynn Stars swoop to sign Ryan Kinsley for 2021 season

Premiership outfit King's Lynn Stars have unveiled Ryan Kinsley as their rising star reserve for the upcoming campaign.

The 22-year-old, who started his career with Lynn's Young Stars six years ago, was due to be the Mildenhall Fen Tigers' number one and captain in 2020 before Covid-19 put paid to those ambitions.

However, he will now aim to continue his development thanks to a new scheme which aims to introduce British riders with limited experience to the top two leagues.

“The rising star scheme has now given me the opportunity to push on in my career and get this spot at Lynn,” Kinsley told the Stars' website.

"I definitely think it would have been harder to get that spot with my average, but this scheme has allowed me to get in there a bit sooner than planned and I am able to push on my career."

Kinsley is the fourth rider with Fen Tigers connections to be affiliated with a Premiership club in 2021 alongside Drew Kemp (Ipswich Witches), Josh Bates (Sheffield Tigers) and Tom Bacon (Wolverhampton Wolves).
