Nortonthorpe Boy secures All Weather Championships winningmost horse award for Phil McEntee
The Phil McEntee-trained Nortonthorpe Boy has scooped season eight of the All Weather Championships winningmost horse award.
McEntee, who trains out of Racefield Stables on Newmarket's Hamilton Road, has seen the three-year-old rack up a total of six victories this term – a return that can no longer be bettered after fellow HQ trainer George Boughey's Khatm finished fourth at Chelmsford earlier today.
The two horses are locked on six wins apiece, but Nortonthorpe Boy comes out on top by virtue of having more placed finishes.
Nortonthorpe Boy's first win of the campaign came at Wolverhampton on December 30 under Luke Morris, who was in the saddle for five of those triumphs.
The other jockey to ride the son of Swiss Spirit to victory was McEntee's daughter Grace at Kempton on January 13.
His All-Weather campaign also included one second-placed finish and two thirds.
